I am a PhD student in the Department of English and Women and Gender Studies Institute at the University of Toronto, specializing in the literatures and histories of the African diaspora, Caribbean, and hemispheric Americas. Drawing from comparative literature, cultural studies, and transnational history, I study the adaption, circulation, dissemination, and reception of Black radical traditions in the making of the modern world. Currently, I am working on two projects. The first charts a history of internationalism through its gender and sexual trouble across the Black Atlantic. The second focuses on literary practice’s entanglements with the transnational carceral state. As a journalist and organizer, I regularly bring my intellectual passions to public fora and community mobilization. My research and writing is published or forthcoming in Canadian Woman Studies, Canadian Dimension, Cultural Critique Online, The Local, and Topia. I hold an MA from UofT and an Honours BA from McGill University.
