I am a third year PhD candidate in English at the University of Toronto. My SSHRC funded doctoral study focuses on the interconnections between aesthetics and ethics in contemporary African-American and Black Canadian women’s poetry. I am particularly interested in poetic forms and methods of relating (and of relating to) self and other. I am a Junior Fellow at Massey College and I convene the Black Studies Working Group within the Department of English.
